As part of the celebrations of the 12th International Yoga Day 2026, a Free Health Camp was organized on 17 June 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the AYUSH Unit, Ullal. The programme was jointly organized by Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, Naringana, and the AYUSH Unit, Ullal, with the objective of creating awareness about holistic health and preventive healthcare among the local community.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sahana, Medical Officer, AYUSH Ullal, who emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. This was followed by an informative session by Dr. Soumya, Professor, Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, who highlighted the significance of regular yoga practice and its role in preventing lifestyle-related diseases.
As part of the awareness programme, Dr. Arpit Kumar, Resident Medical Officer, Yenepoya, conducted a 20-minute yoga demonstration session for the participants, providing practical guidance on simple yoga practices that can be incorporated into daily life. The event was also attended by Dr. Hasna, Unani Medical Officer, Ullal, and Mr. Razak, Camp Coordinator, Yenepoya.
During the camp, BNYS students actively participated in providing free blood pressure and blood glucose screening services to the public. More than 50 local residents availed themselves of the free health check-ups and medical consultations offered during the programme.
The health camp successfully promoted awareness regarding preventive healthcare through yoga and reinforced the International Yoga Day theme of "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed their satisfaction with the health services and wellness guidance provided during the camp.
The programme reflects the continued commitment of Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital towards community health promotion and the dissemination of holistic healthcare practices.
