Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), celebrated Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 (National Nutrition Month) with great enthusiasm throughout September 2025. The month-long program aimed to promote awareness on nutrition, healthy dietary habits, and lifestyle modification in line with the national initiative Poshan Abhiyaan.
The inaugural ceremony held on 10th September 2025 began with a prayer and welcome address by Dr. Ajith K, Assistant Professor & Dietitian, who emphasized the role of nutrition in preventive health care. The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial lamp lighting and the release of the Nutrition Magazine cover page, highlighting student initiatives. Dr. Akshaya K. M, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, Yenepoya Medical College, served as Chief Guest and delivered an insightful talk on the importance of community nutrition. The session was presided over by Dr. Puneeth Raghavendra, Principal, YNYSCH, who encouraged active participation in fostering nutrition awareness.
As part of the celebration, several events were organized including a Quiz Competition, Reels Competition, and a Traditional Cooking Competition showcasing local and wholesome foods. The department also released its magazine "Poushtikam", featuring student articles on nutrition and health.
The Valedictory Ceremony, held on 30th September 2025, was presided over by Dr. Puneeth Raghavendra and graced by Dr. Veeraj Hegde, Professor and Head, Department of Swasthavruttha and Yoga, Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College, as Chief Guest. The month-long celebration concluded with appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty.
The successful coordination of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 was led by Dr. Sunitha D. Souza H and Dr. Ajith K, Assistant Professors, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, whose dedicated efforts made the program a resounding success.
