Guest Lecture: "17 Goals for a Better Tomorrow: An SDG Overview"

Dec 3, 2025

As part of the Faculty Development Programme, a guest lecture on "17 Goals for a Better Tomorrow: An SDG Overview" was successfully conducted on 3 December 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Board Room, Ground Floor. The session was organized for all teaching faculties.

The lecture highlighted the importance of the "17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)"- a global framework aimed at addressing critical areas such as poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, good health and well-being, climate action, and sustainable communities. The resource person explained how SDGs serve as a universal blueprint for achieving a more equitable, inclusive, and environmentally responsible world by 2030.

The session was particularly useful for the faculty members, as it provided:

  • A clear understanding of the SDG framework and its relevance to higher education.
  • Insights on integrating SDG principles into teaching, curriculum planning, research, and institutional practices.
  • Awareness on promoting sustainability-driven learning among students and incorporating real-world global issues into academic discussions.
  • Guidance on aligning departmental initiatives with national and international sustainability goals.

The program enriched the participants' perspective on sustainability and inspired them to adopt SDG-focused approaches in their respective academic roles.
