Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, in collaboration with the Yenepoya Center for Faculty Development, successfully organized a Faculty Development Program focused on the basics of research protocol writing. The event took place on September 25, 2024, and drew participation from 55 faculty members across various colleges affiliated with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
The program commenced with insightful opening remarks from Dr. Puneeth Ragavendra K R, who emphasized the importance of robust research protocols in advancing academic excellence and contributing to the field of naturopathy and yogic science.
The day's sessions featured a lineup of esteemed speakers. Meera Jacob, Professor - Kicked off the program with an engaging session on Selecting a Research Topic, Formulating Research Questions, and Enhancing Research Objectives: A Holistic Approach to Developing a Strong Research Foundation. Participants gained valuable insights into creating a solid foundation for their research endeavours'. Sandhya, Assistant Professor - Presented on Effective Literature Review and Citation Management, equipping attendees with essential skills for comprehensive literature analysis. Ashwini Prabhu, Associate Professor - Led a session on Understanding Observational and Interventional Studies, clarifying key differences and methodologies that are crucial for conducting rigorous researched. Ranajit Das, Associate Professor - Discussed Basic Data Management Systems, sharing essential techniques for organizing and analysing research data effectively. Navya N, Associate Professor - Focused on Study Tool Validation, introducing techniques to ensure reliability and accuracy in research instruments. Uma Kulkarni, Professor - Offered insights on Writing with Clarity and Precision, addressing common pitfalls in academic writing and strategies to enhance clarity. K S Ali, Chief Librarian - Concluded the sessions with a comprehensive overview of Plagiarism and Proper Citation, Publication Support Tools, emphasizing the importance of academic integrity.
The organizing committee, led by Dr. Puneeth Ragavendra K (I/c Principal) and Dr. Abhay Nirgude (Deputy Director), received commendations for their efforts in putting together this enriching program. The participation of faculty members from various disciplines underscored the collaborative spirit and commitment to research excellence at Yenepoya.
The organizing committee played a crucial role in ensuring the event's success. Dr. Padmashree,Associate Professor as the Convener, along with Mr. Ajith K Assistant Professor cum Dietician, who served as the organizing secretary, and Dr. Abhijna Assistant Professor , who hosted the program, facilitated a smooth and engaging experience for all participants. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciations for the practical insights shared during the sessions.
