International Yoga Day is celebrated globally on June 21st
each year to highlight the importance of yoga in promoting holistic health and
well-being. Recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014,
this day underscores the profound impact of yoga in fostering physical, mental,
and spiritual harmony.
The
Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of AYUSH,
Government of India, is organizing the Yoga Mahotsav 2025 to commemorate
the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, 2025. This grand
event marks the 100-day countdown to IDY and aims to promote the
holistic benefits of yoga across the nation. MDNIY has
organized Yoga Mahotsav celebrations in various hundred cities across India to
engage communities and promote yoga practice. Yenepoya Naturopathy
College and Yogic Science College and Hospital, Naringana is one among this.
The Yogotsav -2025 is part of a nationwide
initiative to raise awareness with the vision of fostering a healthier, happier
world through the timeless wisdom of yoga .This will serves as a platform to encourage individuals to
adopt yoga as a means to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, to
raise awareness on the importance
of yoga in daily life and its role in preventive healthcare and to showcase
India's rich tradition of yoga and its global impact.
The Yoga Mahotsav in Yenepoya will take place on 24th of May at Yendurance Zone Yenepoya Deemed to be University from 7.00 am onwards. This will be a special event marking the 28 day countdown to International Day of Yoga 2025.The event will bring together nearly 600 participants including the students and local citizens and also there will be a nationwide live telecast of a comprehensive yogic practice session. The key highlight of the program will be live Continuing medical education on with the theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health.
The event will be inaugurated by honourable guests CEO, Zilla Panchayath, DK Dr.Anand K , Chairman of Allied Health care Council Dr.Iftikar Ali , District AYUSH officer ,DK Dr. Mohammed Ikbaal , Vicepresident, Kotekar Panchayath Mr.Praveen . Dr.Ashwini Dutt, Dean Academics, Yenepoya Deemed to be University will preside over the programme.
